Team Rules

By Joining Blue Agave, all teammates agree to abide by these Team Rules, conditions, and rules mentioned herein, being respectful as well of the guidance of the B.A. board of directors, and the governing bodies of the racer or events you attend while a member of Blue Agave Racing.

1) As a member of Blue Agave Racing, you represent not only yourself, but your teammates, our sponsors and are expected to conduct yourself in a manner that reflects their best interests.

2) As a rule, members will make every attempt to use and publicly promote products and services provided by our family of sponsors.

3)  Members should wear the official team kit at all cycling events, training rides, and races. Current year model kits shall be worn at races and events in order to qualify and receive race reimbursement funding from the club.  Membership in other competitive cycling teams is discouraged.

4)  Blue Agave Racing will enforce good sportsmanship on and off the bike. B.A. members respect their health and physical wellbeing.  Events coordinated by team members should strive to be inclusive of all fitness levels. Members are expected to wear helmets while on the bike.

5)  Unsportsmanlike conduct reported by race officials or others to the B.A. board will result in a membership status review by the B.A. Board.  A positive image is crucial for both the team, our programs, the sport of cycling, and our sponsors.  Members may not engage in UCI-banned performance enhancing drugs or other cheating.

6) Cycling is a potentially hazardous activity. You should not participate in this activity unless medically able and properly skilled.

7) Blue Agave Racing promotes the spirit of fair competition.  While we promote racing and competitive group events, members are not compelled to obtain any results other than to be the best that they can be and to try and progress towards their own ideal.

Many cycling events are set up with self-determined progression categories, typically 5 through 1 for road racing or similar for other disciplines.  Once members have received mastery of their category (in reference to rules established by USACycling), 3 first place finishes or a series championship, that individual racer is strongly encouraged to “cat up” to the next level.

8) Team Members assume all risks associated with riding their bike and activities surrounding such events, including but not limited to falls, contact with people or objects, the effects of weather, traffic, or nature.

9) You, your estate, or anyone entitled to act on your behalf hereby waives and releases Blue Agave Racing, all team sponsors, members, agents, servants, employees, their successors and assigns of all claims and liabilities of any kind arising from the participation of team related activities, even though the liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons referred to in this waiver.

10) Failure to follow the team rules may result in forfeiture of benefits, and possible suspension from team activities at the discretion of the B.A. board.
